About ordering from SpongeCandy.com
If you have a question about ordering Sponge Candy from SpongeCandy.com and it’s not covered here, please contact us. We’ll get back to you, pronto.
Common questions concerning our ordering policies:
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept the four major credit cards along with bank check (debit) cards that have a Visa or MasterCard logo. You can expect to see Ko-Ed Candies as the merchant listed for that transaction on your monthly credit card bill.
We also accept PayPal. When payment is due, the shopping cart will send you to your PayPal login and will automatically fill in the payee address as paypal@SpongeCandy.com.
We’re sorry but we can’t accept cash or checks unless you are placing the order while in our store. We also do not accept COD orders.
Do you discount large orders?
Yes, we are happy to provide a discount for large orders. The discount is determined by and calculated only on the total of the Sponge Candy. It does not include sales tax that may be due or shipping & handling. The discounts are as follows:
- $ 500.00 - $ 999.99…………5%
- $1000.00 - $1499.99………10%
- $1500.00 - and up………….15%
The shopping cart will automatically apply the above discount schedule to individual orders (one ship-to address). If you have orders that go to multiple ship-to addresses and the orders are all placed in the same day, we will manually calculate and refund your discount.
Another way to handle multiple orders to a large number of ship-to addresses is to email us your order information and addresses and we can enter the orders for you. Please don”t send credit card numbers by email as they should only be phoned or faxed to us. Our store phone (voice or fax) is 716-824-3489.
Contact us with any questions.
Can I have my Sponge Candy wrapped as a gift?
Sure and there’s no extra charge! When it’s a gift, it really needs to be wrapped. You will need to choose one of the gift wrap options for each item you’ve placed in your cart before you go to checkout. The options are:
- All Occasion Gift Wrap
- Birthday Gift Wrap
- Christmas - Holiday Gift Wrap
- Easter - Spring Gift Wrap
- Fall - Thanksgiving Gift Wrap
- No Gift Wrap
- St. Patrick’s Day Gift Wrap
- Valentine’s Day Gift Wrap
If you want multiples of the same Sponge Candy gift box with different gift wrapping options, you will need to separately add it to the cart one time for each different gift wrapping option.
You may see pictures of specific gift wraps on SpongeCandy.com but we can not fulfill requests for a specific wrapping paper other than the generic requests as listed right above.
We select our gift wraps to be gender neutral and our Holiday gift wraps to be non-secular.
Do you charge sales tax on my order?
Yes, only if it is to be delivered to a New York State address, then your order is subject to NYS Sales Tax no matter where you might be ordering from. You can think of it as an honorary membership to the Empire State.
All sales tax computations will be on the order total which includes those amounts charged for shipping and handling. New York State Sales Tax says the goods as delivered include both the delivery service and shipping materials.
Our shopping cart will charge to your order the New York State Sales Tax lowest taxing jurisdiction rate of 7%. If your delivery location is in a jurisdiction with a higher rate (some are as high as 9.5% in New York State), we will consider any difference to be your discount and we will remit the correct amount according to the rate of that tax jurisdiction. [Explanation: This is the least complicated solution we could devise for what should be a simple transaction. There are no economic automatic solutions to accurately calculate online New York State Sales Tax accounting for over 6000 geographical places in 90 taxing jurisdictions.]
What happens if the shopping cart charges incorrectly?
The most common mistake we see the shopping cart make is to miss charging for shipping. This happens from time to time when there is a miscommunication between your computer and the servers for SpongeCandy.com, the shoppingcart and the carrier. If you notice a missing shipping charge on your emailed order confirmation, just drop us a brief note giving us permission to calculate the shipping and charge it to your card. If you don’t notice the missing shipping, we will email you asking permission to charge your card the shipping and then ship your order after receiving your email permission. We will email you a corrected invoice.
Since we’re dealing with a series of computers handling your money and ours, we review all transactions for mistakes or unusual characteristics. If you believe there is an error or something strange happened with your transaction, please bring it to our attention. Likewise, if we see an something unusual, we’ll email you about it and promptly refund any monies needing to be refunded.
Overall, shopping cart errors aren’t that numerous but we want you to feel comfortable in the knowledge that we will question multiple identical orders or some other strangeness and then do what is necessary to correct the problem to your satisfaction.
Can I return the Sponge Candy I just received.
No. Some things just can’t be returned for resale and Sponge Candy is one of them. And conversely, you can be sure that your Sponge Candy has not already toured the country before we shipped it out to you.
With this in mind we sell only Sponge Candy of our own manufacture and we take quality issues seriously. We work hard to ensure every box of Sponge Candy we ship is our best effort. If you have a problem that is due to a mistake on our part, please contact us as soon as possible with the details so we can fix it to your satisfaction.
What happens if my order has wrong address information?
Please make sure to double check that all address information is correct. Our software validates all delivery addresses before shipment and in the case of an invalid address, we will email you for a correction before releasing the shipment. In the case of a valid but incorrect delivery address (say you transpose typed the house number from 123 to 213), your order is likely to be mis-delivered and the final outcome will vary. Possibly the incorrect receiver will refuse or return the package or maybe even personally deliver the package to you. Possibly UPS will return the package (shipping charges are lost and another fee applies). Or possibly you will recognize the error on your confirmation email (please double check) and we either fix the problem before we ship or we get to try out the new UPS package intercept service (en extra fee applies). Anyway, what is key here: make it a point to look for and double check your order confirmation email delivery address. The order confirmation email should arrive soon after you place your order. Any problems, please contact us.
What happens if my order is lost or damaged?
In the unlikely event that your order is lost by the shipper or shows severe outer carton damage from shipping, please contact us as soon as possible so we can investigate and rectify the situation. Please note that neither the carrier nor SpongeCandy.com is responsible for melted chocolate.
